Palm Beach Virtual School is the School District of Palm Beach County’s virtual (online) public school choice for students in Kindergarten - 12th grade that provides both independence and accountability.
PBVS students follow the traditional 180 day school calendar and use a curriculum that is self-navigated by the student to learn critical content and meet weekly progress expectations. Students set and follow an individualized daily schedule to make weekly progress in every class. Students have dedicated teachers and their supporting adult at home as they work to meet their goals.
PBVS offers both full-time or part-time options. This application of interest is intended for full-time enrollment interest and should only be completed by a parent or guardian.
Full-time enrollment is an option for students in Kindergarten -12th grade who are ready to take a full course load as directed by the school, meet school and district progression deadlines, and participate in state standardized testing. Full-time enrollment leads to a high school diploma granted by Palm Beach Virtual School.
Full-time virtual school requires independence and self-motivation. Unlike traditional classrooms, students navigate the curriculum in a self-directed online format. Students must meet weekly schoolwide due dates and adhere to the school district calendar. Students need to find the key information in lessons and make steady progress to meet expectations. For this reason, it's crucial that students are self-driven learners and have an adult at home who will monitor their progress.
Full-time students are registered with the School District of Palm Beach County with Palm Beach Virtual School. Students take a full schedule of courses (about 5-6 hours of daily self directed work). Students have a dedicated homeroom teacher in addition to their subject area teachers for support. Students participate in all district and statewide requirements including standardized state assessments. Students may occasionally report to campus for support, enrichment, and assessments.

- Students must meet all school, district, and state requirements, including participation in standardized state assessments.
- High School students interested in dual enrollment or early admission will need to meet PBSC requirements in addition to the PBVS eligibility to qualify.
- We serve students in grades K-12 following the district's student progression plan. Upon successfully completing all graduation requirements, students earn a diploma from Palm Beach Virtual School. We hold our annual high school graduation ceremony here in Palm Beach County according to the guidelines of the School District of Palm Beach County.
Admission to Palm Beach Virtual School as a full-time student is not guaranteed. All families who submit this application of interest will be contacted starting in June to discuss educational placement. Eligible students will register with PBVS using the School District registration process after the student and a parent/ guardian attend a required in-person orientation session in late July/ early August.
