Canon Future Authors Recommendation FY21
This form requires the recommendation of a writing teacher* for a student/mentor applicant of the Canon Future Authors Program. *A writing teacher may be, but is not limited to, an English/language arts teacher.

The Canon Future Authors Project is an ongoing partnership (since 2006) between Canon Solutions America and The School District of Palm Beach County that provides a free, stimulating seven-day workshop designed to sharpen the skills of student writers. This program is intended for students who are interested in becoming published authors. Mimicking the real-world publishing process, students will write and revise personal pieces for publication as well as meet local authors in informative discussion sessions. Student/mentor participants will also attend an unveiling ceremony in the fall where they will see their published book for the first time and participate in a book signing event. All students must agree to be present each of the seven days of the workshop. Following participation in the program, a student will not be considered to participate as an author again for two years but may apply to participate as a mentor.

Workshop Information:
Dates: June 22-24 & June 28-July 1, 2021
Time: 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
Google Meet: All aspects of workshop will be held virtually via the Google Meet platform. *Participation requires student access to computer device & Internet.

Please submit the following form on or before Monday, May 3, 2021 (EXTENDED application deadline). This workshop is designed for student writers who are self-motivated to become more accomplished at their craft and will appreciate the opportunity to have their work published. Thank you!
